Abramovich, Di Matteo e la fotografia celebrativa

RedazioneLa gratitudine, nel calcio, è spesso un optional, soprattutto nel caso di alcuni elementi che non conoscono, probabilmente, neppure il significato di questa parola. Tra gli ‘ingrati‘ di turno una posizione di spicco la occupa sicuramente Roman Abramovich, patron del Chelsea, che ha evidentemente preso di mira Roberto Di Matteo. Questi, nonostante abbia vinto contro ogni pronostico la scorsa edizione della Champions League, è stato silurato nella stagione in corso per dar spazio all’improbabile Rafa Benitez, che è riuscito a mettersi contro, nel giro di un paio di mesi, sia stampa che tifosi. Ma non è tutto.
Nelle scorse ore, sulle pareti delle mura della West Stand di Stamford Bridge, la grande fotografia celebrativa del massimo trionfo continentale, che vedeva al centro la figura proprio del tecnico italiano, è stata sostituita da un’altra in cui Di Matteo è scomparso, lasciando spazio solamente ai calciatori. Un gesto teso, evidentemente, a fare un torto all’ex allenatore dei ‘blues’, che non si è ancora capito di quali gravi colpe si sia macchiato per attirarsi tanto rancore. Certo, su di lui pesa l’eliminazione ai gironi di Champions League subita lo scorso novembre, ma chi gli ha succeduto sta facendo molto peggio. E, se sia tifosi che leader storici dello spogliatoio continuano a rimpiangere Di Matteo, un motivo dovrà pur esserci…
